Please be patient, they have a lot of detail. (Page 1 of 2)

Sometime in April of May, John went down to Tenterfield in NSW.

Left photo is of the Tenterfield Sandler and of the rest are of the Railway Station.

The railway station is an excellent example of Victorian Gothic architecture and was built in 1886 as the terminal station of the Great Northern Railway. Although no longer served by trains the building remains as one of the town's finest heritage structures. Internally the building retains its features as they existed on the last day of train operations in the 1980s.
Nope - the photo is not back to front. The sign on the ground really is painted that way!.

The last train into the Tenterfield Railway Station was on October 24, 1989 but through the efforts of the local Railway Preservation Society, the station is 'staying on the rails'. Ironically, the station ended 103 years of service just 100 days to the day after the then Premier of New South Wales, Sir Henry Parkes made his famous Federation Speech in Tenterfield.

Inside, a bit of a museum.

Anyone for a ride on a one-man trike?

Looking out to see if any trains are coming - it would be a looong wait.

Fuel tank and motor of one of the old MOW vehicles.
